New Hampshire covers 176,706 people in it’s Medicaid program.
Increasingly states are seeing the costs of substance abuse and addiction. Massachusetts has taken several steps to reduce opioid addiction in recent months. This month, New Hampshire Governor Maggie Hassan outlined this as one of her top priorities in this term. Thousands of people that have received Medicaid expansion coverage have taken advantage of this benefit, she said. There is an epidemic of substance abuse hitting various states and having treatment available can alleviate the problem and help people into recovery.
